Improving health has become a huge part of our lives. I want to help bring it to yours!
My name is Corey Hobbs. I am married to a beautiful woman, and we have arguably the cutest son you've ever seen. We also have 2 crazy dogs that we absolutely love. I first started in strength and conditioning when I entered high school and played on the football team. The weight room has been part of my life ever since. After high school, I attended the United States Military Academy at West Point where I majored in Kinesiology and played football. I started to dive into nutrition when I learned the impact it could have on my performance both on and off the field. I was fortunate in that I always had extremely knowledgeable coaches who have helped me view health and performance
as a complex relationship between Nutrition, Movement, Psychology, and Relationships. I believe these to be the pillars of health which can then drive performance. Each of these aspects is a piece of a bigger picture as opposed to the common view of them being individual systems addressed in isolation.
My family and I live in Hermitage, TN. Currently, I am pursuing a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics in order to become a Registered Dietitian. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and I am Precision Nutrition Level 1 Certified as a Nutrition Coach. Additional certifications include the Functional Movement Screen, ELDOA 2, and First Aid/AED/CPR. Previously, I worked at Tennessee Technological University as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. Prior to that, I was an Officer in the Army at Fort Sill, Oklahoma and Fort Bliss, Texas. I was fortunate to be able to intern in the Strength and Conditioning department at the University of Texas at El Paso as I transitioned from the Army. While in the Army, I was able to help the Soldiers that I led and peers better their fitness, health, and nutrition choices so that they could optimize their performance on the battlefield. I have many goals, but my biggest is to dive deeper into Nutrition and Functional Medicine in order to better help people optimize their health and reach their goals.
I have been lucky enough to work with a wide range of people and athletes. Some of the people I've worked with have been in professional sports, the military, college sports, and some are simply in the sport of life. All of them had their own unique goals and experiences, and I was able to help them reach their potential.
It is my goal to create a safe environment for growth and long lasting results. This environment is built on creating a positive culture of honesty and integrity. These things are integral to what I do each day. I care about each person I work with as a person first, and we are able to work together to find the best path to reach their goals.
